About the position

The Manager of Sales Operations at the Bronx Zoo is responsible for overseeing all in-park sales functions related to WCS Membership products. The role aims to maximize revenue, enhance guest experiences, and support the mission of the Wildlife Conservation Society. Key responsibilities include managing membership sales, operations, and fulfillment, as well as leading a high-performing team to ensure exceptional customer service and sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage on-site membership sales, operations & fulfillment across all WCS properties.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and advancement of admissions POS system to ensure proper monitoring and recording of visitor access & member data.
  • Align staff and operations with current pricing and ticketing strategies to maximize premium ticket sales, memberships, and parking products.
  • Assign and ensure the meeting of all sales objectives according to plan & deadline.
  • Promote ongoing innovation and refinement of current practices.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all work locations, prioritizing safety.
  • Execute operations plan for member events.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, and train a high-performing team at WCS Zoos & Aquarium.
  • Implement departmental training programs focused on selling Admissions products.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and training of staff on successful selling techniques and customer service.
  • Enforce all department & WCS rules & regulations.
  • Schedule and implement hourly staffing plan to maximize sales opportunities within budgeted payroll.
  • Monitor and control cash, focusing on loss prevention practices.
  • Manage inventory of department supplies, materials, and equipment with integrity.
  • Collaborate with Business Services Central Office on local reporting and analysis.
  • Build strong internal organizational relationships with key WCS staff.
  • Support overall Admissions Department operations for day-to-day core admissions & parking operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 to 5 years minimum of management experience in theme park, zoo, or similar venue.
  • Experience handling large-scale sales operations, including cash control management.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, administrative, diplomacy, and business skills.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in collaborative management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license required.
