About the position

The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales and coordination team, ensuring client satisfaction through effective support and leadership. This role involves managing sales goals, providing team development, and ensuring fiscal responsibility while maintaining high customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate functions as described in all levels of sales and coordination job descriptions
  • Provide leadership, development, and coaching of team members
  • Engage and support the development of the team for better performance and succession planning
  • Drive the recruitment and selection of sales and coordination team members
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of impactful programs and projects
  • Manage optimal gross margin and minimize unnecessary returns
  • Ensure team members are knowledgeable about manufacturing programs, rebates, and specials
  • Motivate team members to achieve sales goals and metrics
  • Assist team members with priority issues and monitor their productivity
  • Identify staff strengths and weaknesses for training and development
  • Ensure high levels of customer service to exceed expectations
  • Facilitate ongoing product training opportunities for team members
  • Develop and provide timely analytical reports to identify sales trends
  • Ensure all team members are current on procedures, policies, and guidelines
  • Develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in sales or related transferable skills
  • Leadership experience
  • Customer-centric and Internet savvy
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience in handling difficult/escalated clientele situations

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree
  • Restaurant supply/commercial food service experience
  • Bilingual Spanish
