About the position

The Manager of Scientific Communications at Edwards Lifesciences will lead the design and implementation of scientific communication activities related to the Transcatheter Heart Valve (THV) business unit. This role focuses on developing complex scientific content, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the dissemination of key findings to optimize patient outcomes. The position requires a strong scientific acumen and a commitment to patient care, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex scientific content including medical writing, editing, and finalizing manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
  • Lead content evaluation and ensure alignment with relevant strategy by reviewing complex deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct literature reviews to address study-specific questions and provide synopsis of findings.
  • Collaborate with team members to contextualize clinical data for the clinical community.
  • Identify, assess, and summarize relevant scientific and medical literature across therapeutic areas.
  • Review, analyze, and edit presentations/publications and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Create scientific summaries and disseminate key findings among stakeholders in multiple formats.
  • Create presentation slide decks for internal and external dissemination.
  • Review and disseminate session coverage of major medical/scientific conferences.
  • Establish and manage a repository of scientific communications content.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to other team members.
  • Perform other incidental duties as required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field with 6 years of related experience in clinical research and/or healthcare industry; OR Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) with 4 years of related experience.
  • Strong scientific acumen and commitment to patient care.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior knowledge of compliance and guidelines for scientific publications (ICMJE, GPP3).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Extensive experience in scientific/medical conference proceedings and manuscript publication.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders.
