About the position

The Manager of Scientific Communication for the Transcatheter Heart Valve (THV) team at Edwards Lifesciences is responsible for leading the design and implementation of scientific communication activities. This role focuses on developing complex scientific content to support the company's podium publication plan, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the dissemination of key findings to both internal and external stakeholders. The position plays a crucial role in enhancing patient outcomes through effective communication of clinical evidence and scientific data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex scientific content including medical writing, editing, and finalizing manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
  • Lead content evaluation and ensure alignment with strategy by reviewing deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct literature reviews to address study-specific questions and provide synopses of findings.
  • Collaborate with team members to contextualize clinical data for the clinical community.
  • Identify, assess, and summarize relevant scientific and medical literature across the therapeutic area.
  • Review, analyze, and edit presentations/publications in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Create scientific summaries and disseminate key findings among stakeholders in various formats.
  • Create presentation slide decks for internal and external dissemination.
  • Review and disseminate session coverage of major medical/scientific conferences within assigned regions.
  • Establish and manage a repository of scientific communications content.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to other team members.
  • Perform other incidental duties as required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field with 6 years of related experience in clinical research and/or healthcare industry; OR Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) with 4 years of related experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior knowledge of compliance and guidelines for scientific publications (ICMJE, GPP3).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer negotiation and relationship management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders.
  • Proven successful project management skills and attention to detail.
