About the position

As a Senior Manager in Business Intelligence Analytics at USAA, you will lead a team of AML data analysts to develop strategic and tactical data solutions for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring. This role involves providing hands-on guidance in data analytics, sourcing, processing, and quality management, while collaborating with various functional leaders to enhance AML monitoring through quality analytical support and timely remediation of data issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of AML data analysts to provide strategic and tactical data solutions.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and IT leaders to implement an information strategy.
  • Support the execution of the business intelligence strategic plan and partner with the business on compliant support solutions.
  • Consult and advise business partners on decision support solutions.
  • Ensure teams maintain understanding of business processes and high end-user satisfaction through partnerships.
  • Encourage innovation, provide direction on work prioritization, and assist with problem resolution.
  • Oversee direct report performance management, talent development, and career progression planning.
  • Accountable for teamwork product volume, quality, and business value delivery.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business and IT teams to build USAA core information delivery capabilities.
  • Maintain industry expertise and apply standard processes in business intelligence solutions and platforms.
  • Partner with CoSA and Enterprise teams to ensure adherence to information governance and management standards.
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytics field or 4 additional years of related work experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analytics.
  • 6 years of experience in data and analytics, or 4 years with an advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
  • 2 years of direct team lead, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Experience in authoring and gathering requirements for moderately complex business intelligence solutions.
  • Demonstrated facilitation, collaboration, and consensus-building skills, with experience in presenting to cross-functional teams.
  • Experience applying business intelligence practices, methods, and problem-solving strategies.
  • Experience leading and coaching others in understanding and translating needs into requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance, industry regulations, risk management practices, and regulatory data sources.
  • Experience developing business deliverables leveraging business intelligence platforms, data management platforms, or SQL-based languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong technical expertise in ETL processing, data modeling, and data analytics, including Actimize AML solutions.
  • 4+ years of AML experience with large financial institutions in the US.
  • Hands-on experience addressing data challenges and executing best practices in the AML industry.
  • Strength in agility and adaptability, learning new skills and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Solid communication skills with business partners and executive leadership.
