About the position

The Construction Safety Manager at Micron Technology is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety programs and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel, projects, and facilities. This role involves supervising changes to the Micron ISO Management System, conducting hazard analyses, and supporting leadership in resource prioritization. The individual will lead large technical projects and serve as an authority in occupational safety and health, with significant decision-making latitude.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead day-to-day management of Micron NY's Construction safety program.
  • Ensure Micron's safety programs and procedures are effective and conform to regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement solutions for safety issues.
  • Conduct safety walkthroughs, inspections, and audits.
  • Perform incident investigations and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Collect, evaluate, and communicate safety-related metrics and performance measurements.
  • Provide emergency support as an on-call Safety Engineer.
  • Identify, develop, and provide safety training in accordance with company goals.
  • Review trends in spending and correlate with forecasts to determine budget and expenditures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Safety and Health or related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of safety experience in various industries, including manufacturing and construction.
  • Specific experience in safety programs such as Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Chemical Safety, and Risk Analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of Occupational Safety and Health experience in various industries.
  • 5+ years in a Construction Safety role.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
  • HAZWOPER 40 certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • ISO Lead Auditor Certified.
