About the position

The Manager of the Service and License Center is responsible for overseeing the administration and operations of the Service & License Centers in Dakota County. This role involves managing personnel, coordinating services across various departments, and ensuring effective delivery of services to the public. The manager will also be involved in budget administration, staff training, and performance evaluation, while promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Service and License Center Department and coordinate with county management.
• Supervise department staff including a Supervisor and Public Services Associates.
• Assign and schedule work, conduct staff training sessions, and evaluate performance.
• Conduct unit staff meetings and develop team-building activities.
• Administer the budget according to the direction of the Department Director.
• Serve as spokesperson for Service and License Center issues in the absence of the Department Director.
• Ensure accurate daily banking functions and compliance with policies.
• Prepare schedules, reports, and statistical information for operational needs.
• Review and implement current laws, policies, and regulations.
• Administer record and file management procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration or related field.
• At least one year of progressive managerial experience.
• Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Analytical skills to improve existing procedures and customer service.
