About the position

The Manager, Service at Briggs Industrial Solutions is responsible for providing vision, direction, and support to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining company profitability. This role involves overseeing the Service Department, ensuring adherence to company standards, and fostering a safe working environment. The manager will lead a team, manage financial performance, and develop strategies to enhance service delivery and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the strategic direction of the branch Service Department, including financial performance, training, safety, and customer service.
  • Lead safety meetings and ensure compliance with near miss reporting policies.
  • Coach and develop direct reports on employee relations and manage customer orders and repairs.
  • Motivate the Service Department to perform at a high level and ensure accountability for quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage the selection, hiring, development, and training of staff.
  • Build trust and ensure customer satisfaction through regular visits, focusing on top service accounts.
  • Implement positive conflict resolution strategies to benefit both the company and customers.
  • Serve as a liaison between Briggs Equipment, customers, and manufacturers for problem resolution.
  • Manage and maintain a fleet of service and delivery vehicles for optimal performance.
  • Represent the Service Department's brand and support Account Managers to gain additional service revenue.
  • Manage expenses for external customers and the company to ensure profitability.
  • Oversee department needs related to supplies, uniforms, tooling, and building maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • 2+ years working experience in forklift repair or related industry preferred.
  • Management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge preferred.

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.
