The Manager, Shift Production is responsible for overseeing all activities within the Production unit, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role includes a variety of responsibilities such as hiring, making promotion recommendations, and taking disciplinary actions as necessary. The manager will also be involved in creating and implementing production area policies, analyzing production metrics, and managing large-scale operations projects along with continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires setting and enforcing specific performance expectations related to Quality, Cost, Organization, and Commitment within the production management team. In addition to these responsibilities, the Unit Business Manager will initiate the CIC allocations during the first four hours of the shift and will be accountable for ensuring that these allocations are adhered to. Collaboration with Unit Leaders and the CIC is essential to meet business needs and customer standards. The manager will provide training and guidance to Unit Leaders on customer specifications, packing production processes, and health and food safety policies. Quality inspection activities within the department will also fall under the manager's oversight, ensuring that all products meet the required standards. Effective communication and teamwork between departments, such as Shipping and Receiving, are crucial for timely order fulfillment at the lowest possible cost. The manager will be responsible for planning, requesting, and monitoring packaging supply inventory to ensure availability for daily production requirements. Regular production reports will be generated daily, weekly, and monthly, along with recommendations for improving production metrics and efficiencies. Additionally, the manager will facilitate weekly meetings with the Unit Admin team to discuss issues, highlight concerns, and communicate any changes in company policy and procedure. Scheduling of Admin staff, including managing time away, is also part of the role.
