About the position

The Logistics Manager will work closely with the Director of Logistics to oversee carrier contract negotiations and manage shipping operations. This role involves monitoring freight activity, leading the Shipping and Receiving team, and ensuring compliance with logistics processes. The position also requires collaboration with various internal departments to optimize logistics expenses and implement SAP and Ship Exec systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Director of Logistics to manage carrier contract negotiations.
• Serve as the lead for any shipping-related special requirements.
• Monitor all inbound and outbound freight activity.
• Manage the Shipping and Receiving team members.
• Collaborate with IS & T and Procurement on tariff tracking and reporting.
• Lead the resolution of shipping defect-related claims with carriers, quality, and sales teams.
• Establish and maintain a shipment routing guide for cost-effective shipping methods.
• Analyze logistics expenses and recommend cost-saving solutions.
• Assist in managing the SAP installation for backend business processes.
• Manage the Ship Exec installation, a UPS product integrated with SAP.
• Oversee the intelligent logistics go-live after the SAP installation.

Requirements

• 5+ years managing warehouse operations including inventory management and traffic management.
• BS Degree in Business, Management, Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
• Experience working with internal organizations such as Planning, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Finance, and IT.
• Experience managing compliance-related responsibilities and participating in ISO compliance and auditing processes.
• Experience in managing process controls and associated metrics.
• Familiarity with SAP or comparable ERP system implementation.
