About the position

The Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager at Duke University School of Law plays a crucial role in enhancing the Law School's online presence and engagement through strategic social media and digital marketing initiatives. This position is responsible for overseeing daily social media activities, developing content strategies, and implementing digital marketing campaigns that align with the Law School's communications objectives. The manager will collaborate with faculty, administration, and communications colleagues to foster community engagement and ensure the effective use of social media across the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a strategic social media strategy based on the Law School's communications objectives and priorities, managing an editorial calendar for social media.
  • Collaborate to produce meaningful and engaging social media content that encourages community amplification and action.
  • Foster social brand building throughout the Law School community, providing tools and best practices.
  • Serve as a member of the editorial team to ensure purposeful content production and cross-functional coordination.
  • Monitor social and web metrics to flag concerns and provide market intelligence, ensuring brand health.
  • Provide strategic communications support to faculty and administration, advising on effective social media use and offering training.
  • Partner on the development of organic social media and digital advertising standards, providing training to ensure consistency.
  • Manage digital advertising campaigns to support communications and marketing goals, tracking performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or a related discipline.
  • Two years of directly related writing experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience using social media for marketing, communications, or public relations strategies.
  • Experience developing paid social media and search advertising campaigns.
  • Experience using analytical tools to monitor performance and engagement.
  • Intellectual agility and curiosity with a demonstrated interest in legal issues or legal education.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
