About the position

As the Manager of Social Media & Brand Marketing at AWAL, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the social and content strategy aimed at promoting AWAL Core, which is designed for high-quality artists in the early stages of their careers. This position requires a deep understanding of brand strategy and social media dynamics, as you will oversee all AWAL digital properties, including social platforms, the website, and the blog. You will collaborate closely with artists and internal teams to produce branded events and activations that resonate with our audience and enhance our brand presence. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting and maintaining AWAL's brand tone of voice, ensuring that all communications reflect our values and mission. You will brainstorm and implement innovative AWAL-branded content series, tailored for each social media channel, and manage social media content calendars in collaboration with the design team to support various campaigns. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you utilize analytics tools to create performance reports that inform our social strategy and help us stay ahead of emerging trends in the industry. Additionally, you will work with internal teams to compile and promote key artist and songwriter projects, company achievements, and press coverage. You will conceptualize and collaborate with senior leadership to produce branded events at industry conferences, track submissions for industry awards, and assist in media outreach on behalf of the AWAL brand and its executives. This multifaceted role requires a passionate storyteller who can communicate creatively and manage project collaborators effectively, all while maintaining a strong attention to detail and a high level of organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee AWAL brand strategy and social media strategy
  • Manage all AWAL digital properties including social platforms, website & blog
  • Work directly with artists and internal teams to produce AWAL branded events & activations
  • Oversee AWAL's participation and submission for industry events, awards and conferences
  • Craft and maintain our brand tone of voice
  • Brainstorm and implement new AWAL-branded content series, optimized for each channel
  • Oversee social media content calendars and work with the design team to support social campaigns
  • Post and schedule content across multiple platforms
  • Use analytics tools to create social performance reports and collate data that will inform our social strategy
  • Stay on top of emerging social & industry trends
  • Compile and promote key artist/songwriter projects, company achievements, awards and press coverage
  • Conceptualize & work directly with internal teams and senior leadership to produce AWAL branded events & activations at industry conferences
  • Track and oversee submissions for industry awards on behalf of AWAL
  • Assist in media/partner outreach on behalf of the AWAL brand and its executives; produce brand advertisements

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience at a label, agency, management company or similar environment
  • Strong storytelling ability with creative communication skills
  • Demonstrated track record of creating and executing effective marketing campaigns with measurable ROI
  • Deep knowledge of music and internet culture, expert user of social media
  • Self-starter with the ability to think on your feet
  • Adept producer/project manager with high attention to detail
  • Strong team player with excellent people skills
  • Understanding of social media analytics & strategy
  • Knowledge of SproutSocial or other social CMS
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong copywriting ability
  • Basic skills in Photoshop or video editing
  • Interviewing skills for artist/employee/brand initiatives
  • Familiarity with Google Docs, Keynote, Google Drive
  • Some experience in event production and planning
