About the position

Nexon America is seeking a Manager, Social Media Strategist to develop and execute innovative social media strategies tailored specifically for the gaming community. This role is pivotal in enhancing brand awareness, user engagement, and organic growth across various platforms including Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube. The successful candidate will be responsible for content creation, community engagement, and performance analysis, ensuring that all social media efforts align with broader marketing goals. The position requires close collaboration with external agencies and internal teams to optimize social media plans based on performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social media strategy, particularly within the gaming industry, and will have hands-on experience in creating engaging content and managing social media accounts. Proficiency in analyzing social media performance and making data-driven decisions is essential. This role demands a creative thinker with excellent communication and collaboration skills, who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about social media trends. The position operates in a hybrid work model, requiring in-office attendance 2-3 times a week. In addition to managing social media strategies, the Manager will oversee one individual contributor, a Social Media Manager, providing guidance and support to enhance their capabilities. Responsibilities include curating social media marketing plans for game launches, developing relationships with gaming influencers, and conducting audits of social media accounts to recommend improvements. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that social media efforts support overall marketing and business objectives, while staying updated on relevant trends and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the management of social media agencies.
  • Coordinate with agencies to align social media plans and campaigns with internal marketing objectives, while providing guidance and feedback to optimize performance and ensuring highest standards of content delivery.
  • Analyze and report on social media performance regularly, offering insights and optimization recommendations specific to the gaming audience.
  • Reporting on social media feedback and online comments.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies tailored to the gaming community across social platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and management of special events.
  • Curate and manage diverse content (graphics, videos, copy) aligned with marketing strategy and brand voice within the gaming niche.
  • Manage one IC Social Media Manager, supporting and growing their capabilities through feedback and guidance, as well as leading and maintaining the social content roadmap calendar.
  • Curate social media marketing plans for game launches and updates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with gaming influencers and brand ambassadors while maintaining current trends and enhancing best practices within social media strategy and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Brand, Paid Media, Partnership, Influencer, Community, and Product teams to ensure social media efforts support overall marketing and business objectives while keeping up to date on relevant trends and best practices.
  • Conduct social media account audits, provide research, analysis, and improvement recommendations around the target audience, and implement necessary content changes.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years in a social media strategy role or similar.
  • 1+ years of management experience.
  • Previous experience in the gaming industry is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and gaming trends.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with social media analytics tools.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to craft engaging content tailored to the gaming community.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Strong PowerPoint creation and presentation skills.
  • Experience in managing social media and creative agencies.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Must be a gamer with a strong passion for the games industry.
  • Hands-on experience with social media operations and content posting.
