About the position

The FKC Master Social Worker (MSW) plays a crucial role in supporting patients in achieving their psychosocial goals while ensuring the delivery of high-quality behavioral health care. This position involves providing guidance and support to facility master social workers, collaborating with quality teams, and managing social work initiatives to improve patient clinical and quality health outcomes. The MSW is responsible for overseeing the staffing and training of social work services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a productive and engaged workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for psychosocial matters when collaborating with other MSWs and members of the Area Quality Team.
  • Identify clinical quality improvement opportunities in the assigned area to achieve CMS Conditions for Coverage and FMS quality program requirements.
  • Manage the tactical execution of Quality and Social Work initiatives, interventions, and standardized supportive counseling and education materials with facility MSWs.
  • Provide general direction and social work guidance to facility MSWs to support desired outcomes in quality, patient satisfaction, teamwork, unit culture, and employee satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce.
  • Manage staffing of Social Work Services to ensure master social workers coverage during leaves, vacations, and census increases.
  • Oversee orientation and training of new master social workers within the assigned area.
  • Provide ongoing training for existing facility social work to enhance clinical competencies and meet policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in regional, area, facility, and team meetings as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with management staff to achieve effective inter-disciplinary and intra-disciplinary relationships.
  • Monitor and audit Social Work Progress Notes, Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Assessments, Plans of Care, and other documentation to meet CMS Conditions for Coverage and FMS policies.
  • Ensure all master social workers have current licensure and maintain continuing education hours as specified by the Association Social Work Board and state regulations.
  • Regularly monitor registration and licensure status of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Masters in Social Work required.
  • State Specific Licensure required.
  • 2-3 years dialysis experience required.
  • 3+ years' supervisory or project/program management experience preferred.
  • Licensure to provide therapeutic counseling and supervision preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other web-based applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills, including ability to teach, strong organizational skills, excellent communication, customer service, relationship development, results orientation, team building, and decision making.
