About the position

The Manager, Software Development and Engineering at Charles Schwab is responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing software solutions that are scalable and reliable. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that implementations align with business requirements and strategic technology vision. The manager will also investigate current solutions to identify challenges and advocate for platform principles and standards while utilizing Agile and Scrum methodologies in project management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
• Deliver highly scalable and reliable applications that meet business budgets and timelines.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure implementations meet business requirements, solution architecture, and design.
• Investigate the current-state solution to identify and resolve challenges.
• Understand technology trends and their practical applications to enable new business models.
• Advocate and augment platform principles, guidelines, and standards.
• Work with the SCRUM master and product owner to provide development sizing and cost analysis estimates.
• Utilize Agile and Scrum processes in planning, implementing, and supporting business application components and services.
• Provide technical solutions for new changes or features to be implemented in the application.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6 years of progressive, post-bachelor's related experience.
• Related skills may be required.
