About the position

The Manager, Software Development & Engineering at Schwab is responsible for delivering exceptional application and production support while ensuring system health and performance. This role requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Establish systems to communicate relevant system health information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Measure and optimize system performance from a deployment perspective.
• Work with Software Engineers to develop and support reliable and maintainable deployment solutions.
• Provide expert operational support for all application platforms with an emphasis on automation.
• Administer and maintain production environments.
• Advocate for security, stability, and reliability in solution discussions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in a 24 x 7 Site Reliability Engineer role leading efforts to support enterprise applications, infrastructure, and systems.
• 10+ years of experience with monitoring and logging with Splunk.
• 10+ years of experience in measuring, tracking, and improving SLO/SLA's/KPI's.
• 10+ years of experience with a systems programming language including Python, PowerShell, C#, JavaScript, and shell scripting.
• 10+ years of experience with SALT and/or Ansible technology.
• 7+ years of experience with tools such as GitHub, Bamboo, Bitbucket.
• 3+ years of experience with Cisco networking (CCNA certification).
• Availability for after-hours calls/incident management.
