About the position

The Manager, Software Development for Venmo is responsible for leading scrum teams in the delivery of high-quality mobile applications, services, and APIs. This role combines technical expertise in software engineering with people management skills to ensure the successful operation of a software engineering team. The manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to balance product roadmaps with engineering principles, drive innovation, and enhance user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage scrum teams responsible for delivering mobile applications and services for Venmo.
• Facilitate key technology decisions with senior stakeholders.
• Mentor and lead a team of front-end engineers, fostering their growth.
• Collaborate with product, technology, and analytics teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.
• Track the business impact of features and use performance data for informed decision-making.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to evolve the reporting platform.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Mobile Development.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams responsible for large-scale mobile applications.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, algorithms, and object-oriented programming, particularly MVC and MVVM.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Swift, and web services (GraphQL, REST/JSON).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts.
• Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with testing frameworks for Mobile Development.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
