About the position

The Manager, Software Engineering - Applications at Symbotic is responsible for leading a team of front-end, full stack, and UX engineers in the design and development of user-facing applications that enable system operators to interact with Symbotic's automated warehouse solutions. This role involves overseeing project delivery, technical discussions, and ensuring the team operates effectively in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of front-end, full stack, and UX engineers responsible for application design and development.
• Lead the team's delivery of features and participate in technical designs and discussions.
• Manage day-to-day activities of the engineering team, ensuring project plans are on-time and on-budget.
• Manage resources, staffing, and mentoring to maintain a high-performing engineering team.
• Build effective relationships with business, product management, and other engineering leaders.
• Provide technical leadership for designing and delivering scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience developing user-facing software applications.
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing a software engineering team.
• Experience with .NET frameworks, Angular web frameworks, and real-time distributed services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on building effective working relationships.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
