About the position

The Manager of Software Engineering for CI Platforms at LinkedIn is responsible for leading a team that develops and maintains the Continuous Integration (CI) infrastructure, enhancing the developer experience, and ensuring high reliability and scalability of software delivery pipelines. This role involves strategic investments to improve development iterations and collaborating with various engineering teams to align on goals and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build and mentor an engineering team that provides Microservice and CI infrastructure and tools for LinkedIn developers.
• Work across Engineering to build relationships with other teams, gather feedback, and prioritize a roadmap for the team.
• Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and craftsmanship of the team's infrastructure and systems.
• Leverage technical expertise to mentor engineers and provide leadership on complex technology issues.

Requirements

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering.
• Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (like Java/Python/C/C++/Scala/etc.).

Nice-to-haves

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience.
• 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
• 5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, etc.
• Experience with developing Developer tools and infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines.
