About the position

The Manager of Software Engineering for Front End at Capital One is responsible for leading a team of developers in building scalable design systems and delivering robust cloud-based solutions. This role involves overseeing the technical design and development of multi-platform applications while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers in building design systems at scale.
• Perform software development on Front End Applications using a test-driven development approach.
• Own the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
• Stay updated on tech trends and mentor other engineering team members.
• Collaborate with digital product managers and design teams to deliver cloud-based solutions that enhance user experiences.
• Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML/CSS, TypeScript, and Java.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internships).
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• At least 2 years of people management experience.

• Master's Degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in JavaScript, React, Angular, Node, TypeScript, or Java.
• 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks.
• 4+ years of experience with UI application architecture and design patterns.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
