About the position

The Manager, Software Engineering, Full Stack (People Lead- Full Stack) at Capital One is responsible for leading a diverse portfolio of technology projects and managing a team of developers. This role focuses on creating solutions that meet regulatory needs while driving transformation within the company. The position requires collaboration with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that enhance customer experiences, utilizing a variety of programming languages and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Stay updated on tech trends and experiment with new technologies.
• Mentor other members of the engineering community.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
• Utilize programming languages and technologies such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 2 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree
• 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
• 5+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
