About the position
As a Manager of Software Engineering at Capital One, you will lead a team of Full Stack Software Engineers in developing innovative technology solutions that address complex business challenges. You will oversee a portfolio of diverse technology projects, focusing on cloud-based solutions that empower millions of customers financially.
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
- Create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
- Stay on top of tech trends and experiment with new technologies.
- Participate in internal and external technology communities.
- Mentor other members of the engineering community.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
- At least 2 years of people management experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree in a relevant field.
- 7+ years of experience in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
