About The Position

The Hartford is seeking a transformational technology leader for the position of Manager, Software Engineering within the Group Benefits IT organization. This role is pivotal in modernizing our Claims administrative platforms, which is essential for enhancing customer experience and advancing our end-to-end delivery model as we transition to cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the Claimant Transformation roadmap across our core Claims administrative platforms, including THAA, DPP, LCS/DCS, and LCDE, all of which are part of the Group Benefits portfolio. In this role, you will drive cultural transformation within the organization, develop workforce strategies, and manage offshore partners effectively. You will leverage your analytical and problem-solving skills to identify challenges and risks, proactively mitigating them to ensure successful execution. A deep technical acumen across a wide technology stack, including Angular, .NET, and AWS, is essential to ensure that we have well-architected and designed epics and features that align with our strategic goals. As a leader of delivery teams, you will provide human resource management, coaching, and mentoring to build the next generation of application software engineering leaders. Strong communication skills are necessary to interact with executives across business, technology, and partner organizations, along with the ability to influence effectively. Financial management skills are also crucial, as you will lead teams through Agile sizing approaches and provide transparency to Product ownership and CFO through measurable value utilizing FinOps best practices. The role requires demonstrated experience in maturing DevSecOps, improving automation for continuous delivery, and building high-performing software engineering teams focused on continuous improvement. Additionally, you will lead large, complex legacy application modernizations, including cloud enablement and migration, while leveraging reliability engineering approaches to optimize workloads in the cloud.
