About the position

The Manager, Software Engineering will lead the platform team at the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), overseeing the development and deployment of technology solutions. This role requires effective communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to engage in technical decision-making within a fast-paced agile environment. The manager will work closely with software engineers, business analysts, and application architects to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with OCC standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of complex projects involving multiple systems.
• Provide leadership to solution development teams and promote process improvements.
• Facilitate technical experts and architects in resolving complex challenges while ensuring compliance with OCC standards.
• Transform complex business requirements into clear specifications for the development team.
• Develop short and long-term strategies for system objectives in collaboration with product owners and partners.
• Lead data management and reporting efforts to maintain a stable architecture and usable platform.
• Assist the team to achieve collective goals and delivery milestones.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in implementing various solutions with real-world examples.
• 6+ years of relevant work experience in IT, Security, and/or GRC solutions.
• Knowledge of system architecture and data analytics.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to create and present executive-level presentations.
• Curious and adept at understanding technology, industry best practices, and architecture principles.
