About the position

The Manager, Software Engineering at ServiceNow is responsible for leading the development and management of the DemoHub platform, which includes demo instance provisioning, content deployment, and the development of a demo search portal. This role involves overseeing a team of developers, ensuring effective collaboration with internal customers, and driving technical innovation while maintaining high operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, both full-time and contractors, to deliver solutions that enhance the Solution Consulting Organization.
  • Facilitate effective team collaboration with internal customers to understand business requirements and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Oversee daily case management, ensuring issues are addressed from detection through resolution, particularly for content teams and Solution Consultants.
  • Proactively manage and resolve complex technical issues, including major operational outages, and coordinate communication with stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes, technologies, and skills to advance platform operations.
  • Foster innovation through prototyping and experimentation with new ideas, providing technical mentorship and guidance on best practices.
  • Break down business requirements into technical components, ensuring modularity and reusability.
  • Develop and refine processes for ongoing system maintenance and drive initiatives to automate routine maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software development.
  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience guiding developers with best practices and efficient development techniques.
  • Experience with ServiceNow features like Service Portal, Employee Center, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub is preferred.
  • Expertise in ServiceNow development tools, including JavaScript, Jelly, HTML, CSS, and Glide API.
  • Experience with React/Angular or similar frameworks.
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow integration methods (REST, SOAP, MID Server, etc.) and third-party integrations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to a business audience.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in addressing technical challenges during deployment.
  • A hands-on engineer with a background in software development who has transitioned to a leadership role.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
