About the position
The Manager of Software Engineering is responsible for overseeing the analysis, programming, and testing activities related to software application development and support. This role involves managing a technical team, ensuring compliance with development processes, and maintaining high standards for software applications. The manager will also coordinate cross-functional activities, manage resource allocation, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the analysis, programming, and testing activities for software application development.
- Lead and develop a highly technical team supporting application system development and production support.
- Track and act upon work progress, reviewing and auditing the technical work of team members.
- Manage work undertaken by contractors or third parties as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with development processes and corporate standards.
- Communicate with technical and business teams regarding project delivery and client needs.
- Support team members with compliance issues and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Encourage a continuous improvement mindset within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited university or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 6 years of related professional experience.
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory position.
