About the position

The Manager, Software Engineering at Disney is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery and sustainment of software products for Disney Cruise Line. This role involves managing a team of software and system engineers, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality guest and cast experiences through effective technology solutions. The position requires balancing technology and business priorities while leading initiatives related to logistics, medical, and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives within the DCL Application portfolio related to Logistics, Medical and Safety & Quality Management systems.
  • Responsible for leading estimation, planning, and oversight of technical development performed by internal and vendor-led teams.
  • Work closely with leadership within Technology, Business, and Finance to understand strategic goals and deliver technology solutions that meet those goals.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance to ensure processes and systems meet compliance requirements.
  • Be the primary point of contact for internal business and vendor partners.
  • Drive recommendations for buy versus build, vendor, and product selections in partnership with Architecture and System Engineering teams.
  • Be a key stakeholder in Annual Operating Planning and Long-Term Capital Planning for Application Product Portfolio.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology with at least 5 years solutioning/delivering medium to large technology projects.
  • Proven track record on innovation and applying practical solutions to complex business problems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in design and implementation of business-critical systems involving enterprise-scale solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and work on multiple priorities.
  • Prior experience working within a Technology organization.
  • Proficient in Agile methodology.
