About the position

The Manager of Emerging Tech at Disney Experiences Technology & Digital plays a pivotal role in leading a team of engineers to develop and test innovative initiatives in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and computer vision (CV). This position is crucial for driving the organization's strategy and shaping the future technology roadmaps for various digital experiences across Disney's vacation brands. The role involves collaboration with multiple business lines and requires strong leadership and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers in developing and testing AI, ML, and CV initiatives.
• Drive the organization's strategy and craft future technology roadmaps.
• Negotiate and manage vendor relationships for technology solutions.
• Design cloud and on-premises architecture while implementing best practices in security, cost, speed, data storage, and efficiency.
• Foster a culture of best practices and standards for technology integration across teams.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including executives, to ensure alignment on technology initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in delivering AI/CV/ML solutions.
• Experience leading engineers in building POCs and pilots in AI/CV/ML that have advanced to production products.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Experience in designing cloud and on-premises architecture with a focus on security and efficiency.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of growing and leading engineering teams.
• Strong collaboration and partnership skills, capable of interfacing across the organization.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in the hospitality, travel, or entertainment industry.
• Master's degree or equivalent work experience.
