As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Beeswax Ad Serving team, which is integral to our platform's functionality. The Ad Serving system processes billions of ad auctions daily, determining which customers participate and executing complex bidding strategies to optimize results in milliseconds. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration among team members. In this role, you will manage a team of software engineers, providing them with direction, guidance, and opportunities for professional growth. You will collaborate closely with the Beeswax Product Management team to deliver innovative features that enhance the customer experience. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the technical architecture and design philosophies of your team, driving improvements to the Ad Serving software infrastructure, and ensuring that all projects adhere to deadlines, specifications, and budgets. You will also be responsible for reviewing team members' work to maintain high-quality standards and providing technical support and training in Ad Serving capabilities. As a leader, you will implement performance metrics, monitor project progress, and prepare periodic reports for the leadership team. Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies will be crucial to your success, as will your ability to communicate effectively with team members across multiple remote locations and time zones. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering, particularly in building distributed applications, and will have experience in the media or advertising industry, which is a significant plus.
