About the position

The Manager of Software Engineering will lead the modernization of Strategic Data platforms within the Group Benefits IT organization, focusing on enhancing customer experience and improving the end-to-end delivery model as the company transitions to cloud technologies. This role requires a transformational technology leader with a strong background in IT leadership, program execution, and cultural transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of the Partner Integrations roadmap across Strategic Data applications within the Group Benefits portfolio.
  • Drive cultural transformation in organizations and develop workforce strategies.
  • Manage offshore partners and ensure effective execution of projects.
  • Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to identify challenges and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Leverage technical acumen across technologies such as Angular, Java, Informatica, and AWS to architect and design features aligned with strategic goals.
  • Lead delivery teams, providing human resource management, coaching, and mentoring to build future leaders in software engineering.
  • Communicate effectively with executives across business, technology, and partner organizations, demonstrating the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects, utilizing Agile sizing approaches and FinOps best practices to provide transparency to stakeholders.
  • Mature DevSecOps practices, improve automation for continuous delivery, and build high-performing software engineering teams.
  • Lead large-scale legacy application modernizations, including cloud enablement and migration.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of IT leadership experience executing large scale programs and change management.
  • Proven organizational transformational leadership across complex organizations.
  • Strong technology and delivery experience with large transformational programs, specifically with SAFE Agile execution.
  • Proven track record as a results-oriented IT leader collaborating with business leaders.
  • Deep knowledge of technology and software development life cycle, with experience in Agile methodology.
  • Strong understanding of business strategy and aligning technology roadmaps to business objectives.
  • Excellent people leadership abilities with skills in coaching and mentoring talent.
  • Ability to work across all organizational levels, including senior management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex vendor relationships and experience with offshore delivery models.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
