About the position

Cribl Inc is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a remote-first, diverse, and inclusive team of software developers. This role focuses on building a robust and scalable component library for the front-end platform that powers all of Cribl's products. The Engineering Manager will combine technical expertise, strategic thinking, and people leadership to guide the team in developing a unified component library, ensuring a consistent user experience across applications, and establishing best-in-class frontend standards.

Responsibilities

  • Build, coach, mentor, and grow a cross-functional scrum team of engineers focused on scalable data processing systems.
  • Set and maintain technical excellence in product development, emphasizing design, robustness, and code quality.
  • Lead the definition, design, testing, implementation, support, and maintenance of the Cribl UI stack.
  • Foster a customer-first mindset by aligning team efforts with customer satisfaction.
  • Establish strong partnerships with product management and operations to refine and execute the team's roadmap.

Requirements

  • Experience creating the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a platform UI team.
  • Expertise in leading the creation of a robust, well-documented component library with consistent design standards and high unit test coverage.
  • Experience collaborating with UX/UI designers and product managers to ensure components are accessible and responsive.
  • Exposure to the observability space, either as a user or by building observability tools.
  • Direct experience building applications using React, JavaScript, and C++, with bonus points for TypeScript experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English.
  • BS and MS or equivalent practical experience; 10+ years of industry experience, including at least 4 years in a technical leadership role.
