Our payment risk teams are at the forefront of building key components for our risk platform to support our payment business. We work collaboratively with peer developers, product managers, designers, architects, data scientists, and various business partners to define and develop low-friction, high-precision fraud detection systems that protect our customers and vendors. We are seeking a strong, passionate engineering leader to join our team. In this role, you will enhance our platform and protect our customers from potential fraud, which is critical to the livelihood of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), while also unlocking revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the platform to protect customers from potential fraud.
  • Collaborate with peer developers, product managers, designers, architects, and data scientists.
  • Define and develop fraud detection systems that are low-friction and high-precision.
  • Lead operational initiatives and mentor other engineers in best practices.
  • Build and maintain large-scale, high-volume, high-availability systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in software engineering in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, Elixir).
  • 2 years of people management experience with at least 5 years of experience leading operational initiatives.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining large-scale, high-volume, high-availability, low-latency systems.
  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in the payment industry or in developing fraud detection applications.
  • Ability to mentor and guide other engineers in best practices and advanced technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with machine learning model integration and data pipeline design.
