About the position

The Software Engineering Manager at PlayStation is responsible for enhancing the developer experience for engineering and IT staff. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership in a fast-paced environment, and a proven track record in building and managing successful engineering teams. The manager will oversee multiple projects, prioritize product decisions, and ensure operational excellence within the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects focused on the full lifecycle of the developer experience.
• Build and motivate a high-performing engineering team focused on operational excellence.
• Collaborate with different business units and product teams to develop and complete the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Use technical expertise and industry trends to influence software development standard methodologies.
• Handle day-to-day activities of the engineering team using Agile/Scrum methodology.

Requirements

• BS or Master's in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Proven success in building and leading engineering teams with experience in development and management.
• Ability to present complex technical information to executives and non-technical leaders.
• Familiarity with developer tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Tilt, Backstage/Cortex) and cloud platforms (AWS or Google Cloud).
