About the position

The Manager of Software Engineering at Nike, Inc. is responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role involves understanding various resourcing models, improving operational processes, developing resource plans, and tracking budgeting changes. The manager will also develop technical roadmaps, enhance team competencies, and conduct performance management for team members, all while communicating Nike's strategies and objectives effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure high-quality work delivery.
• Understand and identify the best resourcing models for optimal results.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational and squad-level processes.
• Develop resource plans to apply engineering resources to business priorities.
• Track budgeting changes throughout the fiscal timeline.
• Develop technical roadmaps and partner with product teams for technical investments.
• Enhance the technical, personal, and communication competencies of team members.
• Prepare and deliver performance management, ratings, and annual pay reviews for full-time employees.
• Communicate relevant Nike strategies and objectives to guide team success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.
• Five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in software engineering or related occupation.
• Experience with Java, J2EE, Python, and Amazon Web Services.
• Knowledge of Microservices Architecture, SQL, and REST/RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Software Design Patterns, Postgres, Kafka, and Grafana.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and AngularJS.
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming.
