About the position

The Manager Software Engineering at Lumen is responsible for designing and implementing the company's vision for the future. This role requires a strong background in software development, product delivery, agile methodologies, DevOps, and cloud computing. The manager will lead their team by example, guiding them in developing and shipping features while fostering a culture of learning and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software solutions aligned with Lumen's vision.
• Lead a team in developing and shipping features.
• Ensure adherence to REST API development and security standards (OAuth2.0, OIDC).
• Utilize SQL databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Couchbase).
• Demonstrate experience with container ecosystems (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for application development.
• Apply system design principles and performance engineering.
• Explore GenAI Development using langchain and vector datastores.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Java or Python development, with proficiency in relevant frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience as a people manager.
• Proven experience in growing and mentoring talent.
• Ability to manage and lead a team across multiple technology stacks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud computing platforms.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
