About the position

CVS Health is seeking a Manager of Software QA Engineering to join our team in Woonsocket, RI. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of our information technology and Specialty Pharmacy projects. As a Manager, you will be responsible for designing and developing software tests that guarantee the proper implementation of our projects. You will serve as the technical and automation functional subject matter expert on integrated applications and end-to-end testing processes. Your duties will include designing test plans, scripts, and procedures, as well as documenting software defects using bug tracking systems. You will ensure the implementation of defined Quality Assurance (QA) processes and manage project execution to adhere to schedule and scope. In this position, you will oversee project planning, design, test implementation, execution, and evaluation. You will identify efficiency improvements across the team and recommend new QA technologies, including automation tools. Participation in product design reviews will be essential, as you will provide input on functional requirements during leadership meetings and project discussions. You will also contribute to the strategic planning and execution of QA management tasks, confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems, and monitor progress milestones and deliverables. Collaboration with cross-functional teams on application development, technical requirements, code reviews, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software tests for quality assurance.
  • Serve as the technical and automation functional subject matter expert on integrated applications and end-to-end testing.
  • Design test plans, scripts, and procedures and document software defects using bug tracking systems.
  • Ensure implementation of defined Quality Assurance (QA) processes and manage project execution to ensure adherence to schedule and scope.
  • Oversee project planning, design, test implementation, execution, and evaluation.
  • Identify efficiency improvements across the team and recommend new QA technologies including automation tools.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements in leadership meetings and project discussions.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and execution of QA management tasks.

  • Support applications, systems, and databases used to process prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on applications development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in Software development life cycle (SDLC) process, test methodologies, test strategy, test optimization, and process automation.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles.
  • Proficiency in testing tools, including Selenium or SOAP UI.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, including Java.
  • Experience in software testing including manual database testing, automation, preparing test strategies, supporting test cycles, automation framework design, and test script development.
  • Experience in project status reporting and project delivery management.
