About the position

Radial, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Solutions Engineering to join our team in King of Prussia, PA. This role is pivotal in developing technically detailed and commercially viable responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and contract renewals for our e-commerce clients. The successful candidate will lead and deliver engineering solutions presentations to various client stakeholders, including executives and site operators, effectively communicating complex supply chain solutions. The Manager will be responsible for delivering innovative designs for new engineering contracts and renewal opportunities, enabling Radial to profitably grow its business. In this position, you will model fulfillment and distribution processes, which include creating process flows for all functional areas, determining MHE (Material Handling Equipment) requirements, estimating capital investments, productivity rates for direct labor functions, headcount estimation, space requirements, and storage media. You will work closely with the fulfillment systems team to help define Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Control System (WCS) requirements. Collaboration is key, as you will work alongside Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions that maximize customer value and align with Radial's profitability goals. Innovation and automation are at the forefront of this role. You will collaborate with our internal Innovation Team and external Solutions Integrators to drive new automated solutions for e-commerce. Additionally, you will develop internal tools and best practices to standardize and optimize the solutions engineering process, driving continuous improvement in the modeling process based on insights gained from post-launch deal model reviews. The position requires travel of up to 20-25% within the US or Canada for site tours and client meetings or presentations to support client requests or business needs. This travel may include visits to Radial Fulfillment Centers, Client Fulfillment Centers, Client Offices, or Trade Shows within the Logistics/Supply Chain Industry. Telecommuting is permitted, providing flexibility in your work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technically detailed and commercially feasible responses to RFPs and contract renewals for e-commerce clients.
  • Lead and deliver engineering solutions presentations to client stakeholders, including executives and site operators.
  • Deliver innovative designs for new engineering contracts and renewal opportunities.
  • Model fulfillment and distribution processes, including process flows, MHE requirements, capital investment, and productivity rates.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to deliver innovative engineering solutions that maximize customer value.
  • Work closely with the fulfillment systems team to define WMS and WCS requirements.
  • Collaborate with the internal Innovation Team and external Solutions Integrators to drive new automated solutions for e-commerce.
  • Develop internal tools and best practices to standardize and optimize the solutions engineering process.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • Two years of experience in Supply Chain Solutions, Solutions Engineering, industrial engineering, or related occupation.
  • Experience with engineering in a distribution, fulfillment, or 3PL environment.
  • Software skills in AutoCAD for designing fulfillment centers.
  • Data analysis skills in MS Excel and Access.
  • Data analysis skills in Power BI.
  • Experience in developing engineering tools for data analysis.
  • Ability to respond to RFPs by designing optimal engineering solutions for warehousing and fulfillment.
  • Experience with advanced warehousing robotics and automation technologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with internal and external customers.
  • Experience in 3PL companies within solutions design or solutions engineering teams.
  • Ability to interpret operational needs and translate them into engineering requirements for warehousing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks.
