About the position

The Manager, Sourcing Portfolio at Pacific Gas and Electric Company is responsible for leading strategic sourcing strategies and category management to support Vegetation Management. This role involves managing a team to ensure alignment with business goals, optimizing spending, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion. The position requires collaboration with internal clients and suppliers to manage significant annual spend and deliver value to the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings and deliver service excellence.
• Directly supervise Category Leaders and assist them in ongoing development.
• Lead complex cross-functional teams in executing strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Oversee contract spend across multiple categories.
• Develop and implement sourcing policies that align with companywide processes.
• Manage spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking, and business case development.
• Lead the development and execution of negotiation strategies.
• Design and communicate business cases with recommended alternatives for stakeholder alignment.
• Review and approve the Gated 7 Step Sourcing Process with CPO and leadership.
• Oversee field visits, bid walks, and conferences to develop category knowledge.
• Support implementation of key supply chain initiatives to meet KPIs.
• Ensure compliance for Sourcing Portfolio including I.A., SOX, and sourcing policies.
• Facilitate continuous improvement in contract processing and client experience.
• Approve contracts up to $10 million.
• Manage relationships that deliver mutually beneficial results for PG&E and suppliers.
• Monitor and maximize customer satisfaction using service level agreements.
• Assist clients with After-the-Fact Purchase Orders (AFPO) policy adherence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of job-related experience in sourcing or related industry.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, 8+ years.
• 10 years of work experience in procurement or sourcing.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of forestry and utility vegetation management concepts.
• Experience sourcing Vegetation Management Services (Tree Trimming, Pre-Inspection, Support Services).
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills, 2+ years.
• Experience in project management and/or PMP Certified.
• ISM-CPSM certification and LSS-Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and adapt strategies to diverse stakeholder interests.
• Problem identification and resolution skills.
• Ability to plan, execute, monitor, and report on cross-functional projects.
• Understanding of the strategic sourcing process and negotiation skills.
• Ability to ensure supplier compliance and improve capabilities.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills at the executive level.
• Advanced negotiation skills and strategy development.
• Proficiency in SAP/Ariba and advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in project management and/or PMP Certified.
• ISM-Institute for Supply Management CPSM-Certified Professional in Supply Management certification.
• LSS-Lean Six Sigma Certification.
