About the position

As our Senior Manager, you will be at the forefront of our modernization strategy of our Data Center in Hybrid Cloud architecture. This role is pivotal in overseeing network design, automation, and operations of high-quality security solutions utilizing next-gen distributed Firewall, software Load balancers, and appliances to build a cohesive and robust system. You will lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap that will design and implement modern methods of policy enforcement, employing a make-before-break methodology for network changes to support 99.9% availability and audit compliance. This will ultimately increase the velocity of delivering products and unlock new engineering capabilities through your deep technical expertise. The Senior Manager is not only a talent magnet but also an engineering leader who collaborates with the engineering staff to innovate and build new engineering solutions. You will be responsible for improving and enhancing existing solutions while leveraging engineering solutions to solve critical operational problems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in security software stacks and solutions, including SDN technologies and their applications in business settings, and will be adept at navigating complexities to deliver high-quality features and solutions in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior leadership to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate incremental delivery dates for milestones with the stakeholder community, and deliver projects on time.
  • Management responsibility for a team of security and open-source network stack engineers.
  • Build robust security solutions to efficiently orchestrate and manage network devices for bare metal, IaaS, and PaaS services.
  • Ownership of the end-to-end delivery of team strategy and platforms.
  • Identify and raise appropriate project risks, presenting detailed and implementable solutions or alternatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including storage and data engineers, developers, and cloud architects, to build high-performance network solutions ensuring compatibility and integration with overall system architecture.
  • Provide technical leadership and support related to security and SDN, including troubleshooting and resolving any system issues to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring the security, stability, and scalability of the system architecture.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Security technologies, solutions, and deep network system design knowledge and experience.
  • Familiarity with Software-Defined network architectures and solutions with network operating systems such as open source SONiC, traditional network protocols such as BGP, and HW abstraction layer such as Open Compute SAI.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and their interaction with underlying storage infrastructures.
  • Demonstrated conflict management, decision making, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to concentrate and demonstrate a capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly.
  • Strong understanding of Software-defined network infrastructure for Hybrid Cloud, including public and private cloud environments.
  • Experience with SDN Controllers such as ONOS SD-Fabric.
  • Experience in Linux operating systems and programming languages such as C/C#, Java, Python, GoLang.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with various teams within the organization, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Constructing, interpreting, and applying metrics to your work and decision making, able to use those metrics to identify correlation between drivers and results, and using that information to drive prioritization and action.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of network operations and automation experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with systems architecture and design.
  • 4+ years of experience in open-source network solutions.
  • 4+ years of experience working with hyper scale cloud provider solutions.
  • 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in network solutions.
  • 2+ years' experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing.
