About the position

The IT Strategic Sourcing Manager at Ross Stores, Inc. is responsible for executing sourcing projects that align with the goals of the organization and the IT business units. This role focuses on optimizing Total Cost of Ownership while enhancing efficiencies through strategic sourcing initiatives. The manager will lead projects from inception to completion, including vendor research, market analysis, RFP development, negotiations, and vendor management, while collaborating with various stakeholders across the company.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT sourcing process for simple to medium complexity projects from start to finish.
• Develop category and negotiation strategies to drive savings and business transformation.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at the Director and VP level.
• Partner with the IT organization for relationship management and contribute to business reviews.
• Lead planning and ideation sessions to influence stakeholders with innovative ideas.
• Collaborate with IT portfolio owners to establish and execute Renewals and Maintenance Program strategy.
• Conduct detailed market and vendor research and communicate findings effectively.
• Develop and manage project timelines and lead cross-functional working sessions.
• Analyze vendor bid responses and uncover insights to influence sourcing strategy.
• Facilitate the development of award scenarios and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Review contracts and assess potential IT sourcing opportunities.
• Provide guidance on contract negotiations with IT stakeholders.
• Assist in driving continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Business, Economics, Finance/Accounting, Engineering, or Computer Science.
• MBA/JD/MS/ME preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years IT strategic sourcing experience with multiple IT sourcing categories.
• Consulting experience preferred; retail experience is a plus.
• Cross-functional team leadership experience.
• Project management skills.
• Vendor management experience.
• Contract writing and management experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience using e-sourcing tools for RFx processes is a plus.
• Experience working with raw material/market indices.
• Data-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Strong quantitative skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
• Strong communication skills at all levels of the company.
• Ability to build effective working relationships.
