About the position

The Manager, Subcontracts position at L3Harris in Alpharetta, Georgia, is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of subcontracts, including strategy development, solicitation, negotiation, award, and management. This role involves working with various customer segments, including U.S. Federal Government and international clients, to ensure alignment with company goals and mitigate risks associated with subcontracting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the lifecycle of subcontracts from strategy development to management of cost and schedule.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across Supply Chain and communicate effectively with various functional organizations and executive leadership.
  • Lead the assigned subcontracts organization or programs, providing guidance to a team of Subcontracts Administrators and Managers.
  • Manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with schedules and cost targets, and collaborate with engineering on technical subcontractor management.
  • Develop strategic acquisition solutions from capture to execution, working closely with PMO and Contracts to mitigate risks.
  • Review technical Statements of Work (SOWs) to ensure clarity and eliminate ambiguity in requirements.
  • Utilize advanced negotiation skills to manage subcontractor relationships and program risks effectively.
  • Support business development by negotiating agreements and assessing potential bidders for risks and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, or 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 years experience in Procurement and/or Subcontracts, with experience in Supply Chain, Contracts, Program Management, Engineering, or Finance.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, compliance, legal, negotiation skills, analytical mindset, and strategy development and execution.

Nice-to-haves

  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite of tools, including Outlook.
  • Proficient with MRP systems.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • DoD contract experience.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR/ITAR laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
