About the position

The Manager - Supplier Accountability at United Airlines is responsible for driving improvements in supplier performance and managing significant business remedy and warranty claims. This role serves as a key liaison between leadership and suppliers, focusing on negotiations and ensuring efficient outcomes for the company. The position involves strategic claims management, executive liaison duties, high-level negotiations, and team leadership, all aimed at enhancing supplier accountability and financial recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements in supplier performance through effective management of business remedy and warranty claims.
  • Serve as a liaison between executive leadership and suppliers, providing strategic insights and updates on claims and negotiations.
  • Engage in high-level negotiations with supplier executives to secure financial concessions and settlements.
  • Coordinate with internal leadership to gather and analyze data related to supplier performance and impact costs.
  • Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Legal teams to draft contract language that strengthens supplier accountability.
  • Maintain meticulous records of claims activities and produce reports for executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering.
  • At least three years of experience in supply chain, logistics, finance, or a similar industry.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to lead teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, contract administration, and supplier negotiation.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in initiating and leading high-impact claims, including data analysis and contract interpretation.
  • Familiarity with Boeing PSAA and Airbus SSC product support provisions.
  • Ability to draft and negotiate sophisticated product support contract terms.
  • Knowledge of SCEPTRE or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in writing and using sophisticated SQL queries.
