About the position

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Supply Chain is seeking a Full Time Manager for Supply Chain Asset Management to join the UHealth Medical Campus. This role is pivotal in managing the strategic deployment of capital equipment and fleet management across the health system, ensuring a collaborative, efficient, and cost-effective process. The Asset Management Manager will oversee the Capital Committee and engage actively in its operations, working closely with various teams within the health system and the university to facilitate the capital equipment process. This includes conducting strategic market intelligence assessments, aligning with suppliers and vendors, and managing the procurement and implementation of capital equipment. In this position, the Manager will serve as the primary liaison for medical equipment among UHealth facility department directors, C-Suite executives, and physicians. They will assist in implementing UHealth's business practices, focusing on market standardization and consumption minimization while supporting the overarching Supply Chain Vision and Mission. The role requires collaboration with the Finance Department to align capital equipment budgets with sourcing initiatives, ensuring compliance throughout the fiscal year. The Manager will also participate in negotiations and management of capital equipment agreements, advising on strategies for cost reduction and quality improvements through value analysis committees. They will implement fleet management strategies and work with Clinical Engineering to optimize equipment fleets. Additionally, the Manager will partner with Strategic Sourcing to develop capital equipment group buy programs and collaborate with Construction teams to standardize and deploy capital equipment in line with growth strategies. This position is dynamic and may evolve to include additional responsibilities as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic capital equipment deployment and fleet management across the health system.
  • Oversee and actively participate in the Capital Committee and its associated aspects.
  • Serve as the medical equipment liaison to UHealth facility department directors, C-Suite, and physicians.
  • Assist in implementing UHealth Standards of business practices, market standardization, and consumption minimization.
  • Align efforts with the Finance Department regarding the annual capital equipment budget.
  • Continuously assess the impact of capital equipment deployment using market intelligence.
  • Support the development of facility-level annual capital budgets and monitor compliance.
  • Participate in negotiation and management of capital equipment purchase, lease, and rental agreements.
  • Advise on capital equipment through value analysis committees for cost reduction and quality improvements.
  • Implement fleet management strategies, solutions, and technology.
  • Interface with various levels of management and external contacts to develop solutions.
  • Work with Clinical Engineering to identify equipment fleet optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and manage capital equipment group buy programs with Strategic Sourcing.
  • Partner with Value Analysis and Sourcing Teams for RFP submissions and strategy development.
  • Collaborate with Construction teams and Medical Equipment Planners for capital equipment deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of Healthcare experience in a health system.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment, business, and management principles.
  • Knowledge of healthcare products and equipment, inventory sources, and equipment tracking systems.
  • Ability to analyze equipment fleets for optimization and utilization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and presentation skills.
  • Strong project planning and project management skills, preferably with Smartsheet.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills for creating and delivering presentations.
  • Strong Excel and Business Intelligence skills, including the ability to analyze Pivot tables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Academic health system experience preferred.
  • Ability to structure and prioritize work to achieve specific deliverables in tight deadlines.
