About the position

The Manager of Supply Chain Management is responsible for leading a team that oversees the sourcing and delivery of materials and services essential for the production and aftermarket operations at Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC. This role involves managing procurement activities, material planning processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies while maintaining strong supplier relationships to optimize quality and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team that performs local and international sourcing and delivery.
  • Manage the planning and delivery of raw material in support of production.
  • Ensure execution of delivery from suppliers to support the production schedule.
  • Analyze and improve existing processes, systems, practices and procedures.
  • Develop individuals and team to enhance performance.
  • Ensure compliance to company and governing policies for the procurement of goods and services.
  • Communicate part status to internal production stakeholders.
  • Directly manage supplier delivery on critical path items.
  • Manage working capital with supplier deliveries, inventory management and supplier payments.
  • Engage Engineering to develop design solutions that support delivery and cost initiatives.
  • Work with other Sullair business units on alignment of procurement and sourcing strategies.
  • Manage and develop appropriate relationships with suppliers to maximize value to the business.
  • Assist with establishing Accurate SAP Planning Parameters and Material Replenishment Strategies.
  • Daily Supplier Management and Communication to support production requirements.
  • Participate in the daily Customer One meeting, and assist in resolving part delivery delays, impacting the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS Degree or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 10 years' purchasing, planning or supply chain experience within industrial manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of MRP system(s) (SAP) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business conditions, and work well across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems.
  • Self-Motivated and Assertive.
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills.
  • Build and coach teams.
