About the position

The Supply Operations Manager at Hawaiian Airlines is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple supply locations, ensuring that service levels are met and operational performance goals are achieved. This role requires a strong leader with extensive supply chain experience to drive best practices across various departments, including Catering, Strategic Procurement, and Technical Operations. The position is a limited-term role lasting approximately 24 to 36 months, tied to specific company milestones, and does not offer relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful operation of multiple supply locations on a 24/7 basis, ensuring service levels are met.
  • Provide operational guidance to staff and ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with maintenance employees to ensure proper material control responsibilities are performed.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions to meet performance objectives.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of business systems applicable to airline warehouse functions.
  • Promote continuous improvement in the Supply function using methodologies like Kaizen and Lean.
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality-driven management programs.
  • Manage contract and non-contract employees, developing staff work schedules for optimal support.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop plans for material needs.
  • Prepare and control capital and operational budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field and 3 years of supply-related experience, or 7 years of supply or warehousing experience.
  • Strong process analysis and improvement skills.
  • Experience managing a team and ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Understanding of internal controls for operational and regulatory purposes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other business/ERP/MRP systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Supply experience in the commercial airline industry.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certification.
  • Managerial experience with contract and non-contract direct reports.
  • Experience and certification in Dangerous Goods material handling and shipping.
