About the position

The Surgical Operations Manager at Avera is responsible for overseeing the scheduling and coordination of surgical and GI procedures across the Avera McKennan perioperative division. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring appropriate placement of procedures, and collaborating with various scheduling personnel. Responsibilities

• Manage the daily and future scheduling of surgical/GI procedures across the Avera McKennan perioperative division.
• Evaluate and coordinate all surgical procedures related to the operating room(s).
• Ensure appropriate placement of procedures according to specialty and surgical campus for inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Coordinate with all surgical/GI/clinic(s) scheduling personnel across the Avera McKennan perioperative division.

Requirements

• Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in outpatient and/or inpatient surgical setting.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.

Nice-to-haves

• Membership in a professional organization preferred.
• Certified in specialty area of nursing practice required within 12 months of hire.
