About the position

The Manager, Sustainability will lead the development and implementation of sustainability reporting strategies and initiatives at Vertiv. This role focuses on enhancing the company's environmental, social, and governance efforts, including transparency in reporting, corporate sustainability strategy, and engagement in areas such as climate change and responsible sourcing. The position requires collaboration across various teams to integrate sustainability into product and service delivery while managing internal and external communications regarding sustainability performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company's public and internal sustainability reporting and communication efforts, including preparing reports and training on sustainability performance.
  • Lead life cycle assessment (LCA) assignments and develop resources on sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Global Communications and Marketing to define and implement sustainability-related engagement and communications strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally to integrate sustainability concepts into existing and new products and services.
  • Support sustainability reporting efforts, including responses to external inquiries and engagement with sustainability rankings and standards bodies.
  • Lead discrete projects to strengthen sustainability strategy and improve environmental and social impacts.
  • Serve as an internal consultant, researching and offering recommendations on emerging sustainability issues and best practices.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements

  • BS or MS Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • 5+ years' experience with corporate sustainability program management, preferably in the Technology/Electronics Manufacturing Industry.
  • Hands-on experience with embodied carbon studies, life cycle assessments (LCA), and environmental product declarations (EPD).
  • Exposure to Bill of Material management systems (e.g., Oracle PD, Agile, Team Center).
  • Demonstrated experience with project/program management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, analyze, and present data.
  • Empathetic collaborator with a style that builds commitment and engagement.
  • Intellectual curiosity about determining root causes to solve complex problems.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a global, matrixed, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
