About the position

The Manager, Sustaining Engineering - Single Phase UPS at Vertiv Corporation is responsible for leading a global team of engineers to manage sustaining engineering activities for Single Phase UPS products. This role emphasizes continuous improvement and customer satisfaction, ensuring that all engineering projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the Single Phase UPS Sustaining Engineering Team and oversee product lifecycle enhancements or corrective actions.
  • Lead the development of customized and special customer products.
  • Complete all Single Phase UPS sustaining projects to meet requirements, on time, at cost, and within budget globally.
  • Implement controls and processes to ensure sustaining programs are progressing as planned and reported regularly.
  • Manage a global team of cross-functional engineers including hiring, goal setting, training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
  • Support resource and capacity planning for the team, including ongoing planning and budgeting activities.
  • Interact directly with customers to prioritize and meet their needs and requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Enable a high-performance culture through accountability, teamwork, effective communications, and talent development.
  • Supervise the Sustaining Engineering team and functions, including Product, Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Test engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as a leader in Engineering and Product Development with significant knowledge of UPS systems or power electronics.
  • Strong project management abilities with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget that meet/exceed quality and customer expectations.
  • Managerial skills necessary to plan, measure, and motivate engineers for continuous improvement.
