About the position

The Manager of System Design Engineering at KLA will lead the development and launch of next-generation wafer inspection technology, specifically focusing on laser source technology. This role involves managing a technical team and overseeing project objectives while fostering innovation and collaboration within the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Create and actively manage the development schedule to optimize performance, feature content, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Define and pursue mitigation plans to manage and retire risks in a risk-based program management approach.
  • Work with service and manufacturing organizations to establish and meet production ramping and product maintenance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Management team to maintain productive relationships with critical suppliers.
  • Orient the team by discussing schedules, establishing priorities, and presenting changes through regular meetings.
  • Develop employees through thoughtful mentoring and leveraging their strengths.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (Academic) and at least 2 years of work experience, or Master's Level Degree and at least 3 years of work experience, or Bachelor's Level Degree and at least 4 years of work experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with a decisive approach to making difficult decisions and priority calls.
  • Excellent communication skills to advocate for action and positive change.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with a proven track record in resolving complex technical issues.
