About The Position

The Manager Systems Engineering 2 position at Northrop Grumman involves overseeing the Communications Systems and Mission Payload Section, combining management responsibilities with program-specific duties. Requirements

• Bachelor's Science degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of engineering experience OR a Master's Science degree in a STEM discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience.
• Active DoD Top Secret and/or SCI clearance required.
• Prior experience as a manager or team lead.

Nice To Haves

• MSEE with emphasis in Communication Systems or Signal Processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform section management duties (15-20% of time) and program responsibilities (80% or more of time).
• Conduct resource planning and staffing for the engineering section.
• Engage in employee development, including skills training and career support.
• Manage performance through goal setting, quarterly reviews, and issue resolution.
• Deploy, measure, and improve tailored lean systems engineering processes and procedures.
• Support product cost reduction strategies.
• Act as a functional management point of contact at the work site for the Communications Systems & Mission Payload Departments.
• Implement departmental initiatives and report directly to the Communications Systems & Mission Payload Department Manager.
